Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitarist. She also sings. She is also the youngest and first woman to win a British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was one of the Indian young sitar star. She's a child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her birthplace was in London in 1982. She spent her early years shuttling back and forth between London and New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. When she moved to Encinitas CA in 1999 she received an honorary high school diploma. Although she is still very young, Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording career. She has been performing with her father on stage for several years. In 1998, she released Anourag as her debut album as a solo artist. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Apart from performing in every major venue, she also has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't restricted to just music. In 2002 she published an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she starred in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka Shakar's career as a professional will only continue to grow and expand. It is possible to look forward to seeing many new things from her. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent the majority of her childhood in London and Delhi after which she moved to California where she attended the high school. When she was nine years old, she began studying music under her father making her performing first on the sitar four years later, at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. Anoushka had the opportunity to acquire a variety of valuable experiences when she accompanied her father when he toured the world. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festivals, as well as performing alongside George Harrison. She was the first woman to win the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament in recognition of her musicianship and artistry in music and the Asian Arts.
